(cut) - The Forum, Inglewood 25 Mar 73 208 Cinnamon Girl - The Forum, Inglewood 25 Mar 73 There are some riches to be found here! I'd never heard Cinnamon Girl played with country style lead guitar until recently...now I can't get it out my head! The first versions of I'm a Child and Sugar Mountain I heard when planning this out didn't sound so great compared to other versions I'd heard from other tours, but then I came across the versions from the Oakland Coliseum, which are positively haunting! This compilation is fairly representative of the sort of set played in the early '73 tour...I mixed and matched from several gigs...this worked for me as in some gigs the performance varied wildly...in one the acoustic numbers seemed to work much better, in another, the first half of the gig was very good, the second half...Neil and the band seemed to lose it a bit. Also quality considerations helped dictate choices...wow and flutter crept in more on some songs hence ruling them out. Some minor tweaking and speed correction was carried out by checking against other performances on the tour. A second volume will follow soon with some alternate versions - some of which some may prefer - and a couple of rarer tracks. I hope to cover the later '73 tour soon too. In compiling this tour, I didn't use much from a couple of high quality gig recordings. Winterland - where they forgot to tune up, and CSNY enthusiasts will probably love the Bakersfield gig...David Crosby and Graham Nash are featured even more. I'm just not into CSNY as much as some are...so maybe check this one out a bit too if they're your scene. It's a bit laid back for my style - #331961 Neil Young w/The Stray Gators and Crosby & Nash 1973-03-11 Bakersfield, California (RESEED) http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=331961 Finally, a useful guide I found on Neil's tours - http://www.sugarmtn.org/year.php?year=1973 Thanks to all the tapers and seeders who made this possible. Enjoy.
